👋 We are excited to launch Byrdhouse Pro, a video conferencing application with AI-powered real-time translation for 100+ languages and dialects. Our journey started with building products to solve our own pain points.
🌎Byrdhouse was conceived through my own experience as an immigrant struggling with language barriers. I was laughed at and picked on for not being able to speak English fluently in high school. My family now speaks four different languages, and we struggle to have basic remote conversations. For 10 years, I have worked on multilingual teams with team members who struggle to understand and confidently express themselves in different languages.
📱Earlier this year, we launched Byrdhouse on mobile to help multilingual families and friends break down language barriers by providing AI-powered instant translation during video chat.
👩💻From talking to our active customers and waitlist users, we learned that at work, it was painful to manage multilingual communication and collaboration. It’s expensive and time-consuming to find and hire interpreters - the meeting usually takes twice as long to finish, cultural context gets lost in translation, and participants lose their voice because they can’t confidently express themselves in a different language.
💥Remote communication products aren’t built for individuals and teams who speak different languages. Our goal is to help them understand, communicate, and collaborate with anyone, from anywhere.
